AC Replacement & Repair in Dade City, FL

If your air conditioner in Dade City is short-cycling, icing up, or costing more every summer to keep the house comfortable, you are not alone. Inland Pasco County heat and humidity work outdoor units hard, and many homes here still run equipment that is past its best years. Sunset Cooling Services is a Florida Certified Air Conditioning Contractor, license # CAC057813. We handle AC replacement, heat pump replacement, repair and basic maintenance for homeowners in Dade City and nearby Pasco communities.

Replacement is more than swapping a box. Florida code expects a mechanical permit on a full system changeout, and our installed prices already include that permit. We also size the system to the house, not just to the old nameplate. Oversized equipment cools the air quickly and shuts off before it pulls enough moisture out. Undersized equipment runs constantly and still leaves rooms warm. An in-home look and a Manual J load calculation are how we lock in a firm written quote after you see an online estimate.

Many Dade City and eastern Pasco homes put the air handler in the attic. Attic installs take more time and care than a closet unit, and our calculator includes an attic air-handler option so the installed price reflects that. Outdoor condensers on slab or raised stands, line sets through hot attic spaces, and older ductwork all affect the final job. We explain what we find before work starts. No surprise change orders for work we already knew about.

Repair still makes sense when the system is relatively young and the fix is clear: a capacitor, contactor, dirty coil, or a refrigerant leak that can be repaired honestly. We diagnose first and walk you through repair versus replace with real numbers. Maintenance visits help catch clogged drains, dirty filters and weak capacitors before a holiday weekend failure. We do not invent scare stories. We show you what we see.

Want a ballpark before you call? Use our instant price calculator. Pick manufacturer, system type, tonnage and a few options. You get a single installed price that includes the permit and sales tax, with a clear note that it is subject to verification of size, location and duct or piping needs. In many cases verification lowers the final price. Increases are rare. When you are ready, call or text (727) 504-4018 or use the contact form to schedule an in-home visit in Dade City.
